Three quarters of blind and partially sighted people are
unemployed, according to research by the Royal National Institute
of the Blind.
The three-year study was based on interviews with 457 people
aged 16 to 60. A report of the research’s findings, ‘Work
Matters’, says that only 3 per cent of blind and partially
sighted people are not actively seeking work.
The majority – 77 per cent – said they had no
received no support in trying to find a job.
