Roche traces plans for social inclusion

Barbara Roche, minister for social exclusion,
outlined a number of her unit’s key projects during a question and
answer session.

She
said that the social exclusion unit’s main schemes had been chosen
on the basis of “the possibility of delivering real
change”.

On the
subject of neighbourhood renewal, she said: “We are putting
substantial sums of money in, but significantly we are doing it for
quite long periods. We are also saying that projects need to be
community led.”
