Job Centre Plus (regionalised office), out of ‘Regulated Social Fund’.
Which leaflet? And how is it claimed?
NI17A + SB16. On Social Fund form SF100 on request from Job Centre Plus office or by phone to regional office. Claim from 11 weeks before birth to 3 months after.
What are the age limits?
From 16 upwards. Younger mothers may qualify if part of parents’ benefit claim.
National Insurance based?
No.
Means tested?
No but must be getting qualifying benefit.

One-off payment

Points to watch
