Two-thirds oppose single equality unit

More than two-thirds of visitors to Community Care‘s
website oppose the proposal for a single body covering all equality
issues.

The government is planning to introduce a single equalities
commission to replace the Commission for Racial Equality, the
Disability Rights Commission and the Equal Opportunities
Commission.

Sixty-nine per cent said the move should be abandoned.

This week’s question asks: Do you support one of the aims
of Community Care‘s campaign, that health, education and
social care agencies work together to produce quality services for
children with mental health problems?
