Barnardo’s urges more involvement

A new report by children’s charity Barnardo’s is calling for young
people in care to be involved in inspections of local authorities.

The report looks at the experiences of care leavers who took part
in inspections of services at 19 local authorities in England,
alongside the Social Services Inspectorate.

The report found that children in care “opened up more” to care
leavers than inspectors in interviews.
