The government has allocated £2.3m to disability projects to
mark next year’s European Year of Disabled People.
More than 90 projects received grants of up to £50,000 each
last week and more beneficiaries are due to be announced later this
month.
Activities range from a national football league for disabled
people to launching the first ever UK Disabled People’s Parliament.
There will also be a competition to encourage businesses to support
disabled people.
