Few clued-up on human rights law

Nearly three-quarters of visitors to Community Care‘s
website say they have not received any training on how the Human
Rights Act 1998 affects their work.

A report from the British Institute of Human Rights says social
care staff are unaware of their responsibilities under the
act.

Union representative John Power has won his employment tribunal
case against the NSPCC. He was sacked after telling Community
Care about staff reactions to the charity’s plans to close 18
projects.
