NHS seeks views on sharing data

Social workers are being asked to tell the NHS how personal medical
information should be managed and shared.

The NHS Information Authority, which is running the consultation
exercise, is asking for comments on proposals for a new way of
handling computerised health information.

They set out a model for handling personal data which can only be
accessed with a patient’s permission, a national charter for
sharing information and a code of practice for staff.
