Older Scots ‘need more protection’

Vulnerable older people in Scotland are not receiving adequate
protection, the charity Action on Elder Abuse has warned.

The charity is urging politicians to commit to introducing
legislation for the protection of vulnerable adults at the
elections in May.

Chief executive Gary Fitzgerald said: “Scotland is the only country
in the UK that does not have these strategies in place. Older Scots
are denied the level of protection they would receive in England or
Wales.”
