Children could be excluded from school because of their parents’
misbehaviour under proposals put forward by a head teachers’ union
last week.
Speaking at the annual conference of the National Association of
Head Teachers, general secretary David Hart called for head
teachers to have the right to exclude children if their parents
threatened staff with violence or fought in front of
children.
He said that there was a deterioration in parental behaviour
occurring just as pupils’ behaviour improved.
