Community Care scoops top prizes

Community Care scooped the Magazine of the Year 2003 award
at the industry’s oscars at the Grosvenor House Hotel, in London,
last week.

Judges for the Periodical Publishers Association praised the
magazine for its strong coverage of challenging issues including
the Victoria Climbie Inquiry, and for the impact of its Changing
Minds campaign on children’s mental health. The PPA also
highlighted the magazine’s website, its annual free conference
Community Care Live, and its one-year-old sister magazine
0-19. Community Care went on to win Reed Business
Information’s Magazine of the Year and Editorial Team of the Year
awards at a ceremony hosted by comedian Bill Bailey, also held last
week.

Editor Polly Neate said: “The team feel very proud of this
recognition of our work. It’s a real privilege to work in a field
as fascinating and important as social care.”
