Teenagers given a lease of student life

Unaccompanied teenage asylum seekers are to share accommodation
with students at the University of Glasgow.

A block of self-contained student flats with 87 beds are to be
given over for the purpose and there will be social workers and
other support staff available on site.

It is hoped that housing the 15 to 17 year olds alongside students
will help them to integrate into society.

A Glasgow Council spokesperson said feedback from the students had
been positive.

The scheme is being organised by the council with Campus, a company
which specialises in student accommodation.
