The opening of Martin House children’s hospice, when we had our
first night’s sleep after Tim’s birth seven years before.

What would you like to ban?

Professionals who don’t produce the services/appliances they
promise.

What is your greatest achievement?


Passing on my knowledge and help to other parents who are still
struggling.

What makes you happy?

Knowing that in spite of all the traumas I have a lovely and
intelligent daughter.

When were you last angry?

This morning, when yet again the hoist and slings for Tim were
faulty.

When did you last cry?

When giving a talk on life with a disabled child.

Who do you most admire?

My husband for his love, support and ingenuity in inventing
appliances for Tim.

What is the most important lesson you have learned?

Patience and cynicism.
