Scottish local authorities are to get an extra £12 million
over the next two years to expand foster care services. The
Scottish Executive’s deputy minister for Education and Young
People Euan Robson said the money was intended to tackle the
shortage of foster carers in Scotland where the number of looked
after children increased by 3 per cent this year.
