Apprenticeship scheme for 14 year olds extended

The government has announced another 2000 young apprenticeship
places for 14 year olds from next September, with a further
expansion expected.
Under the scheme 14 and 15 year olds can undertake work-based
training instead of attending school
Skills and Vocational Education minister  Ivan Lewis said that 1000
young people were already on the scheme, which is operating in five
sectors: the motor industry, retailing, catering, business
administration and care.
