Voters gain wish as helpline saved

More than 80 per cent of visitors to Community Care’s website
called on the government to provide funding to the Missing Persons’
helpline to save it from closure last week.

The Home Office finally approved a request for £300,000 for
emergency funding and the charity received pledges from major
trusts.
