If you ask me…

Who has had the biggest influence on you?
My mum. She makes something out of nothing and smiles when things
are bad.

Which health or social care professional has been most use
to you?
My physiotherapists Margo and Lester.

If you ran care services in your area what would you do
differently?
Make sure all staff are aware of what the client is
dealing with.

What three words best describe you?
Determined, compassionate and helpful.

What event most changed your life?
The day I exchanged my walking stick for a
wheelchair.

Has any government policy ever benefited you
personally
?
The direct payment scheme.

Describe your dream date?
Sharing a lovely meal in a nice
restaurant with a good-looking man. More importantly, that he sees
me for who I am and not my disability.

What is your favourite meal and why?
Jerk chicken, rice and peas, plantain and macaroni cheese.
It reminds me of my dad’s cooking and my family heritage.

What is your greatest achievement?
Abseiling over a cliff although my legs gave way half
way. I don’t like heights and I was two years into having ME.

When did you last cry?
Last week when I was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy.

How would you like to be remembered?
For being real and for my ability to laugh despite the situation I
faced.
