Care services minister Liam Byne today launched a taskforce to help not-for-profit organisations bid for health and social care work.
It is designed to help break down the barriers that stop voluntary organisations having a greater involvement in delivering services.
Byrne said: “We want to see services that ensure dignity for life, that promote independent living and that guarantee a flying start in life.”
Chief executive of learning difficulties charity Mencap Jo Williams said: “This is a real opportunity for the third sector to work together to ensure that services work together to ensure that services are shaped by the voice of the consumer.”
