If you were stuck on a desert island, and could take one person and one object, who and what would they be? 

Meryl Streep and a tea pot

Who inspires you and why? 

Martin Heidegger because despite being a dreadful man he was also a great thinker whose work has helped me take responsibility for my own life

What is your favourite place in the world?

That bit of the beach next to the Needle’s Eye Rocks, Newbiggin by the Sea, Northumberland

If you were on death row what would your last meal be?

Fish soup, Fruits de Mer, Summer Pudding and a gallon of Chablis please

What is the best present you have ever been given?

Typically late but Catherine Dawson arrived 6 days after my 24th Birthday and I acquired her sister Helen instead of an Easter egg in 1981
