Staff suspended at Kent care home

Two staff at a Kent care home have been suspended and others have had their duties changed while police investigate abuse allegations.

Healthcare Commission inspectors raised a blanket adult protection alert on all 27 residents at the Frank Lloyd Nursing Home in Sittingbourne, prompting Kent social services to refer the matter to the police.

Swale Primary Care Trust, which owns and manages the home for older people with mental health problems, has brought in a new management team. It called in the commission after several incidents at the home in recent months.
