Mubarek inquiry to report findings

The Zahid Mubarek inquiry is due to publish its final report today (29 June).

The inquiry, which lasted two years, examined why Mubarek, 19, was murdered by his racist cellmate Robert Stewart, then 19, at Feltham young offender institution in 2000.

Juliet Lyon, director of the Prison Reform Trust, said it was likely the report would “shine a spotlight” on why Stewart, who had been diagnosed with a personality disorder, had been placed in prison.
