The vast majority of registered childcare providers are ensuring children in their care are kept safe from harm, according to Ofsted research out today. The childcare watchdog found that 97 per cent of the 25, 000 providers inspected between April 2005 and March 2006 were satisfactory or better at keeping children safe. It also found that 98 per cent of providers were satisfactory or better at helping children to be healthy over the same period.
