What’s the point of continuous professional development and post qualifying education?

It has been argued that being a care manager is very different from being a social worker. While social work is about people, care management is all about resources, paperwork and PAF indicators.
a) Talk to another person in your team and answer the questions below:
* are you a social worker or care manager?
* what does this mean to you personally and professionally?
* who or what has influenced your answers to the above questions?
b) Feedback your reflections to the whole group and discuss how these beliefs might influence your practice within your organisation.
GUIDE TIME FOR DISCUSSION: Allow 20 minutes for part (a) and 30 minutes for part (b)
