Minister asks for ideas on family justice to include in new bill

The government will introduce a family justice bill and is calling for ideas on its content, Department for Constitutional Affairs minister Harriet Harman said today.

She told a conference in London the bill would take forward plans to open up the family courts to media scrutiny and provide new rights for cohabiting couples.

But she called for submissions on “any issues that have been rumbling around that would warrant legislative change”.

The conference, organised by Care and Health, marked the end of a consultation on opening up the family courts.
