* When are there clear contra-indications to ongoing face-to-face contact between adopted children and birth family members?  Would you maintain any link between the birth family and child in such circumstances and if so in what form? What supports and safeguards might you put in place? (GUIDE TIME FOR DISCUSSION: 1 hour)

* Confidentiality is crucial to successful work with birth families. What issues still need to be shared between a child care social worker and independent birth family support worker? How would you set up the work and address some of the difficulties that can emerge in joint working relationships? (30 minutes)
