Social enterprises can be used to empower social care workers to tackle problems in the sector, according to a report launched tomorrow in London.
The study, produced by the Social Enterprise Coalition and industry legal specialist Hempsons, also says that social enterprises – businesses that trade for a social purpose – can provide a fresh approach to service delivery.
It covers nine case studies highlighting the range of social enterprises operating in health and social care.
Advice on setting up or commissioning from a social enterprise in the health and social care sector is also included.
