Social worker to face conduct hearing over child restraint allegations

A social worker who allegedly physically restrained a child on two occasions will come before the General Social Care Council at a conduct hearing at the end of this month.

The social worker, from Gateshead, who is alleged to have committed misconduct and breached the social care regulator’s code of conduct, will start the hearing on 30 April in Newcastle.

This week, another social worker from Barrow-in-Furness who allegedly failed to declare previous criminal convictions and a police caution when registering with the GSCC will also face a conduct hearing starting tomorrow.
