Social worker admonished for restraining child

A social worker from Newcastle has been admonished by the General Social Care Council for physically restraining a child on two occasions.

Anna Orlinski, from Gateshead, had an admonishment placed on her entry in the Social Care Register for a period of one year.

The GSCC’s conduct committee said Orlinski had expressed “remorse” and had positive testimonials about her practice and character during a two-day hearing this week. It said her actions were “well-intentioned” despite being inappropriate.

Orlinski has a right of appeal to the independent Care Standards Tribunal.
