The relationship support organisation Relate has appointed Claire Tyler to the role of chief executive. Tyler, who will take up the post in August, joins from Department for Education and Skills, where she is director of the vulnerable children’s group. Before this, she spent four years heading the Social Exclusion Unit.
Four deputy directors have been appointed to the Office of the Third Sector (OTS) in the Cabinet Office to each lead a team, to be launched in June, that will play a key role in leading and implementing the government’s approach to the third sector. Sarah Benioff, chief executive of the Community Development Foundation, will lead the participation team Pat Samuel, head of the Treasury’s Charity and Third Sector Finance Unit, will lead the public sector partnership team Hilary Norman, deputy director of the OTS’s Social Enterprise Team, will lead the social enterprise and finance team and Helen Stephenson, head of strategic policy and partnerships at the Big Lottery Fund, will lead the Third sector support team.
The Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH), the professional body for individuals working in housing, has appointed Sarah Webb as its new chief executive. Sarah is currently CIH deputy chief executive and replaces David Butler, who will step down later this year after nearly 10 years at the helm. Webb joined CIH in 2003 as director of policy and practice. Previously, she spent two years as head of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister’s Community Housing Task Force.
Independent mental health care provider Partnerships in Care has announced Kevin Beeston as non-executive chair of the board. He is currently chair of service company Serco Group.
