Practitioners have until 12 June to have their say on the roles and tasks of social work, as part of the General Social Care Council’s inquiry into the subject.
The review is examining what roles social workers should and should not perform and their relationships with service users, other professionals and employers at a time of increasing service user empowerment and multi-disciplinary working.
On the back of the review, the GSCC will present a statement on the roles and tasks of social work this summer.
The GSCC has produced a consultation paper which you can respond to online, by email or post.
Following the launch of the consultation in March, Community Care ran a competition for the best account of what social work looks like at its best, which was won by Liz Willets from the Social Care Association.
