Gordon Brown wrote a book about them. BBC2 launched a new fantasy drama series about them this week. But what we want to know is – who is your hero?
Thanks to the fantastic new fantasy drama that launched on BBC2 this week, and the prime minister’s new book identifying the everyday champions he’s met across the country, the word Heroes is on everyone’s lips.
In the TV drama, the opening double bill saw individuals from across the world discovering they had extraordinary powers and having to join forces to save the world.
At the same time, Gordon Brown has published a new book Britain’s Everyday heroes where he tells the stories of 33 everyday heroes – ordinary people whose willing commitment to a cause or a community has informed and inspired him.
‘This book is about people who have given me a fresh insight into the needs and aspirations of our country, what is great about it now and how it can become greater in the future. It is the story of Britain’s everyday heroes: the kind of heroes who live next door, and in the next street and throughout our neighbourhoods – the kind of heroes we might ourselves become.’ Gordon Brown
