Are you the next JK Rowling? Find out by entering our creative writing competition…

Community Care has launched a creative writing competition for all you budding novelists.

Write a short story of no more than 2,000 words, submit it to our competition and you could be one of our three winners who will see their work published in print and receive up to £100 of book tokens.

You can write about anything. It could equally be based on your experiences in social care or involve the trials and tribulations of apprentice wizards. It could be comedic or tragic, a swash buckling romance or a page turning thriller.

The only criteria is that it has to be fiction.

A shortlist of the three best entries will be drawn up by successful writer and novelist Alison Taylor (who formerly worked in social care) and Mike Broad, group editor, Community Care. The readers will then vote on the overall winner.

To enter email your short story to simeon.brody@rbi.co.uk by 21 September. Please ensure you include your full name and  contact details, and do not exceed the word count.

The winners will be announced on 30 November and the short listed stories will be run online and in the magazine

.
