The Disabilities Trust, the national charity providing care, rehabilitation and support for people with physical disabilities, autism, acquired brain injury and learning disabilities, has elected Peter Jackson as their new chair. Jackson, who was previously vice-chair and intends to focus on service users’ rights and input, succeeds Graham Anderson, who is retiring after 11 years in the post.
Pat Long has been appointed as deputy operations director at Look Ahead Housing and Care, which provides housing, care and support for over 3000 people a year across London and the South East with a range of support needs. Long, a qualified nurse, will be responsible for driving service improvement across all Look Ahead’s housing management, support and care services. She joins Look Ahead from Sense East, where she was deputy regional director.
General Social Care Council chair Rodney Brooke has been announced by the Department of Health as a member of the National Information Governance Board for Health and Social Care, which will provide leadership and promote consistent standards for information governance across health and social care. The board will be chaired by Harry Cayton, chief executive of the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence.
