Northern Ireland: Belfast social worker struck off register

A Belfast social worker has been struck off the social care register for allegedly sleeping on duty and failing to check on a service user at the right time.

The Northern Ireland Social Care Council conduct committee found Margaret Ellen Rea had made a serious breach of the code of practice for social workers.

Rea did not make any representation to the committee or present any evidence of mitigating factors relating to her case.
