GMB and Unite have announced further strike action by disabled staff at Remploy in protest against factory closures, following a two-day walkout this week.
Staff at the Birkenhead and Aintree plants, who took action this week, will also strike on the 13, 14, 21 and 22 February. Workers at York have also added their voice by voting six to one to join the protests on 13 and 14 February.
The three factories are among 28 earmarked for closure by the publicly-subsidised company, as part of a government-backed plan to shift resources into its employment service, which helps disabled people into mainstream jobs.
There are a further five strike ballots taking place for factories in Hartlepool, St Helens, Treforest, Ystradgynlais and Brynammon. Ballots are also planned for the remaining factories scheduled for closure.
