Tender for the provision of a specialist mental health advocacy service for young people in Bluebird House, Leigh House and the Trust’s Psychiatric Hospitals

The Trust’s Specialised Services Directorate is seeking tenders for the provision of a specialist advocacy service primarily for young people who are detained patients under the Mental Health Act at Bluebird House, a Secure Forensic Mental Health Unit; Leigh House, an Adolescent Mental Health Unit and in the Trust’s General Adult Psychiatric Hospitals.

It is anticipated that up to 40 patients will be eligible for this service at any one time. Eligibility will be primarily for young people who are detained under the Mental Health Act. Young people who are not detained will be considered as eligible for the service in cases of need and if capacity is available within the specialist advocacy service.

A three-year rolling contract, approx. value £40,000 per annum, will be awarded with the option of two twelve month
extensions to a suitably experienced and established advocacy service with a view to commencing the service on early 2009.

Expressions of interest are invited from suitable organisations that wish to receive a detailed specification and information on the tendering process and timetable.
