Birmingham City Council – Supporting People Expression of Interest Invitation

Birmingham City Council (“the Council”) Supporting People Team invitesexpressions of interest from service providers who do not have a current Supporting People contract with the Council (1) for the provision of housing related support services in the following client groups:

  • Mental Health
  • Physical & Sensory Disabilities
  • Older People
  • Alcohol Misuse
  • Drug Misuse
  • HIV/Aids
  • Gypsy & Traveller Communities

    The Council’s Supporting People programme aims to achieve positiveoutcomes for vulnerable people within the City through the delivery of highquality needs-led housing related support. The Council is seeking expressionsof interest from service providers who have a track record of supportingvulnerable people from a diverse range of communities.

    The Council is committed to equal opportunities and diversity. Applicationsfrom small, third sector and black and minority ethnic providers are encouraged.

    The Supporting People programme is overseen by the Department ofCommunities and Local Government (CLG), but is managed locally byindividually administering authorities such as Birmingham City Councilto meet the support needs of the people that reside within its boundary.

    Those wishing to express their interest in providing this service should writeby electronic mail to supporting_people_contracts@birmingham.gov.ukor by letter to Birmingham City Council Supporting People Team, c/o HousingDepartment, 44 Newhall Street, Birmingham B3 3PL.

    Expressions of interest need to include relevant contact details including nameof service provider, address, phone number and the client group(s) (from thelist above) that you wish to express an interest in.

    The closing date for expressions of interest is 12 noon on Friday 21 November 2008.

    Expressions of interest will be acknowledged andPre-Qualification packs will be sent out to interested parties shortlyafterwards. No expressions of interest, whether by post or electronic mail,will be accepted if received after the specified deadline.

    (1) Service providers who currently have a Supporting People contract with BirminghamCity Council have already submitted expressions of interest and are involved in thisprocurement process.
