Quotations are invited from suitably experienced organisations for the provision of a specialist Relevant Person’s Representative as described in the ‘Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards’ (DoLS). The service needs to take account of relevant guidance in the DoLS Code of Practice.
The service will be available for individuals aged 16plus and will be a function of safeguards in the deprivation of liberty process, providing the relevant person with representation and support that is independent of the service they are receiving.
Applications are invited from organisations that are able to deliver services within Birmingham from April 2009, and have a proven track record in providing high quality advocacy services for a wide variety of groups, including people with learning disabilities; dementia, mental health needs, and acquired brain injury.
The contract will commence on 1st April 2009 and run for a period of 12 months as a pilot.
Written expressions of interest quoting ‘Relevant Person’s Representative Service (DoLS)’ should be received no later than noon on 12th February 2009.

In return applicants will be sent and asked to complete and return a quotation document to demonstrate relevant experience and the ability to deliver the requirements of the contract.
Completed quotation documents should be returned by noon on 17th February 2009.
