Producing documentation for the Early Professional Development (EPD) project

CWDC is releasing a number of tenders to support the Early Professional Development (EPD) pilot programme. This programme will provide support and training for social workers who have completed the Newly Qualified Social Worker (NQSW) programme and are now in their second and third year of employment within children’s services.

CWDC will provide support to employers, supervisors and social workers in order that they can participate in the EPD programme. Therefore CWDC is inviting bids from suitability experienced organisation(s) to:

2. write documentation (in the form of handbooks) to support employers, supervisors and social workers involved in the EPD programme. (SW0803/003/JS)
3. write a handbook that sets out the outcomes a qualifi ed social worker needs to meet by the end of their second and third years in practice. (SW0803/004/JS)

Work to develop this documentation will begin in May 2009. The contracted organisation(s) will have to demonstrate extensive knowledge of the Government’s commitment to improving the capacity and skills of social workers. Detailed knowledge is therefore required of Every Child Matters, Building BrighterFutures: Next Steps for the Children’s Workforce (April 2008) and the 2020 Children and Young People’s Workforce Strategy (December 2008).
