Vacancy rates: the figures in full

Community Care’s exclusive investigation into vacancy rates in children’s and adults’ services departments in England found that 10.9% – or one in nine – posts were vacant nationally.

The figures, collected from local authorities under the Freedom of Information Act, also found that the national vacancy rate in adults’ services stands at 12.1% compared with 13% for children’s services.

The map below shows a regional breakdown of vacancy rates across children’s and adults’ services by region. The table beneath gives figures for children’s, adults’ and combined services by local authority.
