Expressions of interest for the contract for a host organisation for the Bournemouth and Poole Mental Health Service User network

Dorset Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, The Borough of Poole, Bournemouth Borough Council and NHS Bournemouth and Poole are seeking Expressions of Interest from organisations experienced in the provision of services to people with mental health conditions and/or the development of health related service user networks to fulfil the role of “Host” organisation to a Service User Network in Bournemouth and Poole.

The Host Organisation will be responsible for delivering a three year programme to establish and support the development of an inclusive and locally based Network of mental health service users. The expectations of the Host will include:-

  • Identifying opportunities for involvement and support service user participation in the process of planning, commissioning, developing, monitoring and the delivery of mental health services within Bournemouth & Poole.
  • Build the capacity, funding and resources to achieve full independence of the Network within 3 years
  • Enable the Network to support the communities in Bournemouth and Poole to have access to the best available and fully inclusive mental health service at all levels of care.
  • Reporting back to each of the Support Organisations on expenditure, activity and achievements of both the Host Organisation and the Network
  • Providing advice and support to the Network including the setting up of administrative and governance arrangements.
  • Ensuring the Network is inclusive and embraces diversity

    It is anticipated that the contract will commence in November 2009 and continue until November 2012.

    The current funding for this service is £55,000 per annum.

    Expressions of Interest shall be received by Friday 21st August 2009.

    Tender Documents will be issued week ending Friday 28th August 2009.

    Completed Tender submissions should be returned no later than 2pm on Friday 18th September 2009.
