Carers UK chief executive Imelda Redmond is to step down after 12 years at the organisation.
She is moving to become director of policy and public affairs at Marie Curie Cancer Care.
During her time at the charity, Redmond has taken a leading role in debates over the long-term reform of adult social care, including as chair of the Care and Support Alliance, a coalition of over 50 charities from the sector.
She was recently appointed to lead one strand of the government’s work to develop a White Paper on adult social care next spring, on improving quality and developing the workforce.
Carers UK’s trustees have started looking for a replacement.
