Working with Bereaved Children and Young People in Fractured Families

Developed by Child Bereavement UK – A national charity which supports families facing bereavement and trains professionals whose work bring them into contact with children or parents experiencing loss.

One-day workshops on Tuesday 11th December 2012 and 26th February 2013

Co-facilitated by Dr Jacqueline Tracey, Consultant Counselling Psychologist, Children’s Targeted Services, YMCA, and Julia Samuel, Child Bereavement UK Founder Patron

An interactive day offering practical guidance to professionals working with children and young people who experience bereavement within the context of a separated or fractured family system. Participants will be offered an overview of how children and young people grieve, an understanding of family breakdown as a result of death, and therapeutic approaches. How to support children who move into care and how to communicate in a multi-agency framework and promote joint working is also discussed.

Registration from 9.30am, 10am-4pm

Fee: £99 per person, including light lunch and course materials
