The 2016 Social Worker of the Year Awards has opened for entries.
The awards are open to qualified social workers in England and nominations will be accepted until 5pm on Friday 22 July.
Individual practitioners and social work teams can nominate themselves for 15 different categories across children’s and adults’ social services.
Awards include Mental Health Social Worker of the Year, Newly Qualified Social Worker of the Year and Team Leader of the Year.
The trustees of the social work awards charity will also choose two practitioners to receive the Outstanding Contribution to Social Work and Overall Social Worker of the Year awards.
Ray Jones, chair of the charity, said: “We are very excited to be launching this year’s Social Worker of the Year Awards. Last year was our most successful year to date, with more entries, more organisations supporting the event and more people attending the awards ceremony than ever before.
“The awards are continuing to grow in size and stature and are an ideal opportunity for the most dedicated social workers in England to get the recognition they deserve.”
The 2016 awards ceremony will take place on Friday 25 November in London.
Sanctuary Social Care will be returning as the event’s headline sponsors and the British Association of Social Workers is the corporate partner.
Barnardo’s, the Local Government Association, Kent County Council, Devon County Council, Hampshire County Council, Calderdale Council, and ECL: The Care & Wellbeing Company have also signed up as individual category supporters.
Community Care is the official media sponsor of the awards.
