The three month period for social workers to renew their registration with the Health and Care Professions Council opened today.
Social workers have until 30 November 2016 to complete a professional declaration and pay a renewal fee to be able to continue practicing as a social worker.
The HCPC will also select a random sample of 2.5% of social workers’ continuing professional development profiles to audit. The social workers selected will have a separate letter sent to them along with re-registration notices.
This will likely be the last time social workers have to complete re-registration with the HCPC, as a government-controlled regulator is expected to be brought in by 2018, ahead of the next re-registration window.
