Discuss how families become isolated in neighbourhoods with high levels of socio-economic deprivation, and how their child’s violence further contributes to the isolation. * Foster carers are often initially confident in looking after an aggressive child, but later feel they cannot maintain the young person in their care. Which processes can lead to foster carers feeling disempowered in the face of such difficult behaviours? What factors have you found can reverse this process?
