New guidance on fabricated illnesses

The government has published guidance on safeguarding children in
cases where illness may be being fabricated or induced by a carer
    with parenting responsibilities.

Safeguarding Children in whom Illness is Fabricated or
    Induced
is intended to help agencies and professionals draw up
detailed ways of working together if there is concern a child is
likely to suffer harm as a result of a carer’s behaviour.

The guidance is for individuals in contact with children and
families in statutory, voluntary and independent sectors. Area
child protection committees are expected to incorporate it into
    existing procedures.
