Former social worker becomes minister

A former welfare rights officer has been appointed to the post
of deputy minister for community care. Hugh Henry MSP was also a
development officer with the social work department of Strathclyde
Regional Council until local government re-organisation in
1996.

He later became the leader of Renfrewshire Council until his
election to the Scottish parliament. It is Henry’s first
