Two jailed, three acquitted over riot

Two asylum seekers have been found guilty of violent disorder and
imprisoned for four years for their part in the riots at Yarl’s
Wood Detention Centre, near Bedford.

Henry Momodou and Behar Limani were both convicted of violent
disorder by a jury at Harrow Crown Court in north London last week,
but Momodou was acquitted of arson. Three asylum seekers – Lucky
Jacobs, Gjerg Tuka and Kayode Abdul – were all acquitted of violent
disorder.

The riots led to a fire being started in February last year, which
resulted in around £35m damage to the £100m flagship
detention centre.
