LOCATION: Roseland’s Resource Centre for adults
with mental health problems in New Malden, Greater London.

SALARY: £34,000

HOW LONG IN THE JOB? One year.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Managing an access team
linking people with a serious mental health illness into mainstream
services.  Focusing on social and leisure activities, adult
education and the arts, it lets service users contribute to the
community.

BEST PART OF JOB: Working with mainstream services
and the voluntary sector.

WORST PART OF JOB: People who do not tell you what
they really think.  It is a tiresome battle to raise the profile
and importance of social interventions.

JOB SATISFACTION: 7/10

NEXT CAREER MOVE: Let’s say I’, happy that
